Blanc Du Bois Dry

Blanc Du Bois Dry
Dry, Gently Fruit-Forward, Nice Complexity
Sauvignon Blanc with more fruit
This wine has a nice fruit character, including Peach, Pear, Mango, Pineapple, and Citrus, with high aromatics that include honey suckle aromas.
Pairs well with Louisiana Cuisine including shrimp, crawfish, blue crab, creamy pasta dishes, blackened fish, boiled Louisiana seafood, and pork and chicken dishes.
Blanc Du Bois is Estate grown (at Landry Vineyards). Our West Monroe vineyards produce a wonderful Blanc Du Bois wine. We carefully tend our vineyards using our educated and experienced viticultural practices to achieve soil balance, vine balance, dapple light (proper fruit sun exposure), and air flow.
Blanc Du Bois is a French/American hybrid that was developed by the University of Florida in 1968 by John A. Mortensen. Blanc Du Bois was officially released in 1987, is Pierce Disease resistant, fungus manageable and grows well in the Southeastern US. The gulf coast can be more of a challenge due to excessive rain at harvest, though we think we have found a sweet spot to grow Blanc Du Bois in West Monroe at Landry Vineyards due to decreased precipitation during veraison and sandy hills where the soil drains well, surface and sub surface. Our sight allows for north south orientation of the rows of vines which allows for proper fruit sun exposure and air flow (predominantly southeast wind in the summer).
