Rosé
Semi-Dry, Fruit-Forward
This Rosé is fruit-forward, light, & semi-dry.
Pairs well with summer sausage or smoke sausage, grilled fish, cheese, salads, charcuterie boards, and fruits including watermelon, cantaloupe, and fresh berries.
Our Rosé is made from the Lenoir wine grape and is Estate grown (at Landry Vineyards). Our West Monroe vineyards produce a wonderful Rosé from Lenoir. We carefully tend our vineyards using our educated and experienced viticultural practices to achieve soil balance, vine balance, dapple light (proper fruit sun exposure) and air flow.
Lenoir, also known as Black Spanish, is a historic American hybrid wine grape with roots in the southeastern United States. It likely originated in the 18th or early 19th century from natural crosses between native American grapes and possibly Vitis vinifera. Lenoir gained popularity in the Gulf Coast and Texas regions due to its ability to thrive in hot, humid climates and its resistance to common vine diseases like phylloxera and Pierce’s Disease. Its deep red juice and fruit-forward profile make it ideal for producing richly colored red and port-style wines.
In the mid-1800s, Lenoir was even sent to Europe during the French wine blight, where it was planted under names like Jacquez/Jacques and used to help combat phylloxera. Today, it remains important in southern U.S. viticulture, especially in Texas and Louisiana, where wineries like Landry Vineyards continue to showcase its versatility and local heritage. With its disease resistance and adaptability, Lenoir remains a valuable grape for producing quality wines in challenging growing conditions.
Serve it chilled — Lenoir Rosé is especially refreshing in warm weather and complements bold Southern flavors while remaining light and crisp.
